Sight Drawing: Chicago, 5/30/16

Charcoal Pencils, 9 by 12, 5/30/16
I had an amazing weekend in Chicago, and it was extremely eventful and busy. (I got engaged!!) so since we had so much more going on than I planned, I drew the view from our hotel window. It walk actually  great view to draw because there are two very tall rounded buildings that we are sometimes referred to as the "corncob" buildings. They helped make the drawing more dynamic. I really enjoy drawing skylines with all the little angles and details.

  1. Chicago is known for its amazing architecture. You had quite a view! And congratulations - how exciting about your engagement!! I am impressed you were able to get any drawing done. You did capture many details and the round buildings do add interest and texture. I would like to see this drawing developed even more (in the arch area, in line variation and value). This may have been difficult to achieve with a charcoal pencil.
