Draw A Cubist Portrait

Pen and Crayons, 5/31/16
I have never drawn a cubist portrait, and I think it is important for me to try because it could be such a fun lesson to do with my students one day. It is fun to draw body parts from different angles. I love that the eyes are usually different sizes and body parts look like they are being shown from different angles. I think it could also be a way to challenge kids to think about how our eyes, nose, or mouth look from the side versus the front.

  1. You used color nicely to balance the design and blur the figure and background. The lines in the hair blend nicely and draw the viewer around and down the drawing.
